Lenten Offering for Priest
The Lenten collection for the support of the priest is taken up around now. It’s the first of the green envelopes in the new contribution box you received earlier this month.
If you didn’t get envelopes, or if you have mislaid your contribution box, there are special envelopes available at the back of the church. You can use these, but do put your name on them.
Thank you sincerely for your generous and continued support.
Trocaire
Trocaire boxes are available in the church porch. The money goes to help the less fortunate

Hall Matters
Below are some pieces of information relating to the hall that people might find interesting:
Hall Bookings
All bookings for the hall should be made through me (Fr. Liam), at 086 818 0954. or glenmore@ossory.ie. We try to accommodate everyone and we accept more than one booking for different rooms when possible.
Hall Repairs
The outer layer of the hall roof has begun rusting at the end of each sheet, which requires replacement in the near future. The finance committee are working with interested parties to address this repair which will not be cheap. We will keep you informed of developments.
Hall Rates
With major repairs on the horizon, as well as rising costs for heating and electricity, the charge for use of the hall will inevitably have to rise. Some groups have already begun paying more, and as soon as the finance committee signs off, we will announce the new charges.
The rise won’t be so excessive as to price people out of using the hall, but it will have to reflect the rise in the cost of utilities (Gas, oil, electricity, water etc).
Incidentally, the hall is classed by the ESB, Irish Water and others as a commercial premises and as such we are charged commercial rates.
Hall Accounts
The hall account is now completely separate from the parish and in the near future we will release the hall accounts covering my tenure here.
Hall IT Hub
Thanks to Kilkenny County Council, Gelemore Community Hall has a dedicated IT Hub, suitable for office work and internet use. There’s broadband (sorry, not fibre) and printing facilities available there, and rates are reasonable.
Hall Waste Removal
We have limited means for disposing of food waste, rubbish and recycling so, we ask groups, if you generate waste, please take it with you and dispose of it properly.
