Welcome Back Choir
After the summer break our choir returns ready to enhance our liturgy with music. Anyone who would like to join the choir, talk to Mr. Paul Comiskey, choir master.
Parish Envelopes
Where possible, please use the parish envelope when making a donation. This allows us to record your donation and if you contribute €5 per week or more, we may be able to claim the tax back on that amount. This charitable scheme is at no further cost to the donor, but could be worth an extra 33% to the parish.
When using envelopes, please write your name on the envelope since we are transitioning to a digital system and sometimes the numbers are different.
Priest’s October Collection
There are 6 collections at different time of the year that go toward the priest’s salary. The October one is taken up around now. These 6 collections are the sole means of income for the priest.
To make our faithful distributors life easier, you have/will receive THREE envelopes this time. One for October, one for November, and one for Christmas. Please use the October one now, and keep the other two safe until they are needed.
I am extremely grateful for the support I receive from parishioners, and grateful too to our distributors who spend so much time delivering envelopes to houses.
If you didn’t get an envelope and wish to contribute, there are spare ones at the back of the church. Include your name and address with your contribution. Thank you once again.
St. Vincent de Paul
The recently church gate collection for the society came to €365. Thank you very much to all who contribute to this local charity helping local families.
Parish Hall
I’m happy to see that the parish hall is used quite a bit by a variety of groups, but it costs money to run. To make a long story short, the hall is living hand-to-mouth and drastic changes will have to be made to address it’s running and future viability. The newly formed finance committee will be tasked with addressing the needs of the hall. At a later date a public meeting may need to be called. More on this later.
Liturgy Group
Those interested in becoming members of the parish liturgy group are invited to a meeting, next Monday, at 7.30pm in the parish church. The liturgy group assist me in planning Masses and special liturgical occasions in the church and parish.
