Divine Mercy: A Door Always Open
This Sunday, the Church celebrates Divine Mercy Sunday—a feast that reminds us of something we often forget: God is not reluctant to forgive. In fact, He is eager to.
The devotion comes through the visions of St. Faustina Kowalska, who recorded Jesus’ words: “The greater the sinner, the greater the right he has to My mercy.” Those are not the words of a God waiting to catch us out—but of a God searching for us, like the shepherd for the lost sheep.
In a world that can be quick to judge and slow to forgive, Divine Mercy Sunday offers a different vision. It invites us to step into the heart of Christ, where mercy is not earned but given freely.
And it’s not just something to receive—it’s something to live. Every act of kindness, every moment of patience, every quiet forgiveness… these become echoes of God’s mercy in our world.
Perhaps this Sunday is a gentle invitation:
to let go of what weighs us down,
to come back to the Lord without fear,
and to trust that His mercy is bigger than anything we carry.
Because in the end, mercy is not just what God does. It is who He is.
