Fundraising Horse Night

The Horse Race Night on the Big Screen, takes place on Friday, 17th July.
Promoters are currently going around the parish seeking support.
Backing a horse is €20 and you get three for €50. You can also
sponsor a race for €200. Please support. This is a fundraiser
exclusively for the Community Hall Roof Repair, and your support is
greatly appreciated.

JuneOffering for Priest.

Sincere thanks to all who have, and will, support the June Offering for the
priest. The envelope for this collection is in your parish envelope
box and is the green envelope.

If you have mislaid your envelopes, you can still contribute by using one of the printed
envelopes that are at the back of the church. Alternatively, any
envelope will do, just write your name on it.

The June collection is one of the 6 annual collections from which I derive my entire income. I am grateful to all who support these collections.

Sharing Anniversaries

If you book a weekend Mass, it will be with the understanding that
families may have to share a particular weekend Mass with others. So
far this is working well.

For those who wish to have their own Mass, we offer weekday Masses at
10am.

Cemetery Maintenance Committee

The committee are looking for volunteers to join them in maintaining the
older cemeteries in our parish. If you have a few hours to spare and
want to join a group of sound lads, then phone Harry on 085 777 1367.

AltarServers

We have begun recruitment of altar servers to join the current teams.
If there is any young person from 2nd (this year’s communion class) upwards who would like to join, then collect an application form from the sacristy.

Servers are asked to commit for at least a year and will join a team helping
to serve Mass. We also ask parents, where possible to be involved in
supervision.

CemeteryMass

The Cemetery Mass will take place on Friday, 24th July at 7.30pm

Thanks to all who are tidying their graves for the Mass.

Please...When maintaining your grave, take home any dead wreaths, and other items no longer used and dispose of them properly. We don’t have dumping

Extra Parish News

We have booked power washing of the church and it will happen in the
coming weeks. Hopefully it will give a cleaner appearance to the
exterior of our lovely church.

We are also beginning the process of extending the cemetery in Glenmore. We start now while there is still space in the current cemetery.

The Yew tree in the cemetery is scheduled for removal after nesting season.

The Race Night in July is raisingfunds for the hall only. Any other fund-raising (Harvest Supper in October) is shared between the parish and the hall.

As you may be aware from August, and in addition to being PP in Glenmore, I will also become PP in Rosbercon. I will continue to reside in Glenmore.

Defibrillator Course

The recent training course held in the hall was a huge success and adds
another 12 people who are qualified to use the defibrillator in an
emergency. Sincere thanks to KCETB for funding the course.

The next course is being planned. If you’re interested in participating
then contact Bernie Cullinane 087 753 9706, Nicholas Kelly 087 256
7866, or Julie Hoynes 087 762 9898

Using Parish Envelopes

For those who faithfully contribute weekly and monthly, using your parish
envelopes means we can track your donation and, where applicable, use
that recorded amount to claim back tax. Even if you contribute yearly
or half-yearly, but also put money into the weekly collection, using
your envelopes means we can add this to your main donation.

The charity tax back scheme is worth about €4000 each year to the
parish. Thanks to all who participate.

Bookings for the hall are made to me, Fr. Liam, either by email or by phone. Yes, there is a charge for using the hall.
