Corpus Christi

This Sunday, June7th, we celebrate the special feast day of The Most Holy Body &
Blood of Jesus (Corpus Christi). After the Sunday Mass, and weather
permitting, we plan to hold a short procession from the church to the
new section of the cemetery for prayers and benediction. Mark the
occasion in your diary and join us.

Hall News

We were not successful in getting a government grant for the replacement of the
hall roof. It wasn’t for want of trying! Sincere thanks to the
finance and hall committee members who put a lot of work into the
grant application.

Going forward wewill now concentrate on repairs and fundraising is more crucial than
ever. The big fundraiser for hall (and hall only) is the upcoming
race night. If you can support, please do. See details of the race
night below.

People will becalling, selling tickets from next week, please support.

Fundraising HorseNight
The Horse Race Nighton the Big Screen, takes place on Friday, 17th July. Promoters are
currently going around the parish seeking support. Backing a horse
is €20 and you get three for €50. You can also sponsor a race
for €200. Please support. This is a fundraiser exclusively for
the Community Hall Roof Repair, and your support is greatly
appreciated.

June Offering forPriest.

The June collectionfor the support of the priest is taken up this month. The
contribution envelope is in your parish envelope box and is the next
green envelope.

If you have mislaidyour envelopes, you can still contribute by using one of the printed
envelopes that are at the back of the church. Alternatively, any
envelope will do, just write your name on it.

The June collectionis one of the 6 annual collections from which I derive my entire
income. I am grateful to all who support these collections.

Sharing Anniversaries

If you book aweekend Mass, it will be with the understanding that families may
have to share a particular weekend Mass with others. So far this is
working well.
For those who wish to have their own Mass, we offer weekday Masses at 10am.

The GlenmorePantomime Society
The society will hold its AGM on Wed 10th June at 7:30pm, during which a new committee
will be elected. The society continues to be a great asset to the
local community, bringing people together through fun, creativity,
and entertainment. We’re looking forward to another successful year
ahead and exciting plans for 2026. Everyone is very welcome to attend
— whether you’d simply like to hear about the year ahead, support
the society, or get more involved. We look forward to seeing you on
the night.

Cemetery MaintenanceCommittee

The committee arelooking for volunteers to join them in maintaining the older
cemeteries in our parish. If you have a few hours to spare and want
to join a group of sound lads, then phone Harry on 085 777 1367.

Community Alert

A final reminder topay your subscription to the Community Alert Text Service. You can
pay at the Community Hall, Local Pub or Trilán. Unpaid numbers will
be removed going forward

Diocesan Corpus Christi

If you fancy a trip to Kilkenny city, that the diocese is holding a procession through
the streets, starting this Sunday at 3.00pm

The Cemetery Masswill take place on Friday, 24th July at 7.30pm

Thanks to all who are tidying their graves for the Mass. If you notice an unattended
grave, why not adopt it and maintain it?
